LEGOLAND Florida Brings In The New Year With A Party Before Bedtime
A new round of fun activities for kids will kick-off once Santa leaves town
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2012) - LEGOLAND® Florida, Central Florida’s newest theme park, brings in the New Year for six nights beginning Dec. 26 with a Coundown to New Year’s and a Kids’ New Year’s Eve party. Perfect for families with children ages 2 to 12, all festivities begin in the afternoon and wrap-up shortly after the sun goes down, allowing little ones to have all the fun of New Year’s with their family without having to stay up until midnight to do it.
Each day during the Countdown to New Year’s (Dec. 26-30), the celebration starts at 2pm. Special events include a New Year’s themed live-action show in Pirate’s Cove Stadium and a grand finale fireworks spectacular over Lake Eloise. With special LEGOLAND Florida viewing glasses, an ordinary fireworks show is transformed into millions of exploding LEGO® bricks.
In addition, the whole family can enjoy a family-friendly party with Kids’ New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31. Kids get to rock out in Miniland USA with a live DJ Dance Party that’s sure to get everyone moving. After the live-action show and fireworks, everything will be in place for the enormous BRICK Drop at just the right time for kids, midnight Kid Standard Time (KST) - otherwise known as 6 p.m. EST. It’s the perfect schedule for families who want to enjoy all the fun of New Year’s Eve, but still have the kids tucked in at a reasonable hour. Mom and dad even have time to get a sitter and attend their own celebration.
Operating hours Dec. 26-31 are 10am-8pm with the fireworks show at 6pm each night.
All New Year’s events are included with regular park admission, and guests will have complete access to a full day of theme park fun with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.
